Live Trapping Nuisance Porcupines
Porcupines can cause damage to trees as they like the tender bark, they chew on houses for the glue in plywood and can be a serious problem for your dogs or cats do to the sharp quills they have.
Found mostly in the northern United States and Canada.
Some porcupines can get quite large so we recommend the following live cage trap.
Place trap close to were porcupines are doing damage. Bait with peeled tender bark that the porcupines are feeding on in your area. Spray a salt and water solution on peeled bark. Porcupines are found of salt. They are know for eating wooden canoe paddles do to the salt in are sweat. Try leaving a trail of the tender bark into the live trap to entice the porcupine to enter. Do not touch the Porcupine as their quills are extremely sharp.
