Trapping the Red Fox

Like deer hunting, trapping takes lots of patience and knowledge.  I had shot several bucks before I finally trapped my first red fox, and I guarantee you, my first red fox is as vivid a memory as my first buck.

The red fox can be found throughout most of the U.S. and Canada. It prefers scattered farmland with woodlots, but can also be found in wilderness areas and other wide open areas.

By far, the most common set for the red fox is the dirt hole set. The scent post set and snaring are other common methods of trapping the red fox.
