ADVANTAGES OF SNARING

COST: You can buy several dozen snares for the cost of a few traps. If a trap thief takes your snare your loss is minimal compared to traps.

COMPACT: Several dozen snares can be carried in a small pack or bucket that only a few traps would fit.

LIGHT WEIGHT: Average weight of a snare is about 10% of an equivalent trap allowing you to carry many more sets.

TIME: Setting a snare is much faster and easier than traps giving you time to make many more sets and increasing your productivity.

EFFICIENT: The same snare can be used for several different animals. No pull-outs or chew-outs and less loss of catch.

EQUIPMENT: No need for all the "extras" required for setting traps. Less weight and space needed.

WEATHER CONDITIONS: Wet and cold weather will not hinder snare sets.Snares won't freeze up in cold weather.

SITUATIONS: Snares can be placed in many locations a trap can not - in trees, on logs, on rocks etc.

SELECTIVE: You can set a snare for a specific animal by adjustment of the snare.

DETECTION: A properly set snare looks natural and is not noticed by animals.
